Janica quickest at Winter Park
The first win of the season has arrived! In the slalom FIS race of the Nor-Am series in the American town of Winter Park, Janica Kostelic won first place, starting 19., and once again put the world of the white circus at awe.
- It was a pretty difficult course, and Janica, despite victory, still has reserve left - said Team director Vedran Pavlek.
One starts to wonder, just how far can she go?
In competition with the world's foremost skiers, except Anja Pearson, Sonja Nef and Tanja Poutiainen, Janica skied both runs confidently and passed the finishing line 35 tenths of a second before the second best, Martina Ertl.
Janica's success was augmented by excellent performances by Nika Fleiss and Ana Jelusic. Nika started 39., and finished 12., while Ana finished 34., after starting from the 66. place.
The skiers have another slalom scheduled at Winter Park, Monday night.
