On Tuesday, 5th February, Janica and her father Ante departed for Salt Lake City! They were originally planning to travel on Monday, but Ante Kostelić assessed that Janica could use one more day in Selce. The flu has gone, the back is better, and the shape will be improved until the first competition in the combined on 14th February.

At Zagreb airport, before numerous press, they said they were looking forward to the coming Winter Olympics, and Janica stressed that the therapies have helped her a great deal and she feels much better, despite some slight pain in the back, and also said she hopes to be completely fit ahead of the first competitions.

Ante Kostelić was more precise regarding the performance at Salt Lake City. 'Our goal is to achieve the best result possible and I must say that we're counting on a medal.' Janica is much better now, but we'll see how everything is when we get to the U.S., how she adjusts to the time difference, how the back will react...
