For Janica the last couple of weeks have been marked by receptions and obligations to her sponsors. After being received by Croatia's President Stjepan Mesić, the world's best skier, her father and trainer and the director of the alpine ski pool, Vedran Pavlek, were received by Zdravko Hebel, predsjednik of the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO), and Zagreb's mayor, Ivan Bandić.

HOO President Predsjednik Zdravko Hebel promised full support at next year's Olympics:
"During the past season the World Cup was in the foreground, but I believe that next year your goal will be the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. An Olympic medal would be a crown to all Janica has accomplished so far. She is still young and many competitions still await her. The HOO will do all it can to offer Janica the best possible conditions for preparations."

At the reception at the Dverce Palace Zagreb's Mayor Milan Bandić presented Janica with a medal of the City of Zagreb for her exceptional results in 2000 and 2001. Among other things he stressed that the City of Zagreb would do its utmost to make Sljeme a ski centre.

Last week Janica attended a review for the best ski manufacturer which was held in Vienna and organised by "Die Presse". As best skier of the past season Janica acted as model for Salamon skis, the best manufacturer of skis for women and coming in second after Atomic.

Janica was also a guest of her sponsor "Milka" at the draw at the Getro shopping centre and she appeared on the popular TV show Briljanteen…

After a week of obligations, Janica left for the spas in Selce on Friday where she is under rehabilitation therapy.
