» Janica excellent 8th in practice run!
In the third official FIS downhill event practice run Janica Kostelic finished 8th! After the race she stated her satisfaction, but also mentioned she is well aware of her errors, and the improvements that can be made. She knows she should gain security with each race.

» Janica finishes 12th in the first downhill event this season
In the first FIS World Cup downhill event held this season Janica Kostelic capped very good 12th place. However, after the race Janica was not satisfied with her performance. She said she achievent fantastic result considering her poor run.

Repeating the scenario from Soelden, Janica gave excellent second run performance which led her to the 4th place overall and bagged her 50 points.

» Promising 4th place for Janica Kostelic
Janica Kostelic captured a promising 4th place in today’s giant slalom won by Spain’s Maria Jose Rienda Contreras – missing the podium by only half a second. It’s her best performance since her 2nd place in Soelden – and a good reason to increase her confidence before Sunday’s slalom she won last year. She clocked one of the fastest times in the second run, losing only 7/100 of a second on Anja Paerson who came in 2nd.

Janica Kostelic failed to score victory in the first FIS World Cup slalom event this season for only 0.03 seconds.

Janica Kosteliæ reached her second podium of the season in Aspen where she came in 2nd , only 3/100 of a second behind her arch-rival Anja Paerson. Kostelic, who won 17 World Cup slalom races in her career and finished ten times 2nd or 3rd, certainly expected more from herself after the first run which she was clearly leading.

In spite of numerous delays and extremely bad weather conditions (snowfall and wind), the race today was held allowing Janica to grab 5th place with starting bib 30!

Janica Kostelic reached a promising 5th place in today’s downhill race on the lower part of the « OK » course in La Daille, outside of Val d’Isère, finishing only half a second behind the winner, USA’s Lindsey Kildow.

A real surprise, kept a secret from the public for a long time, is coming up on 4 January 2006, following the official draw ceremony; the free-of-charge concert, featuring the world’s biggest disco stars, will start at 8 PM.
This year’s race features a novelty – a special donation of the Snow Queen to the Gornja Bistra special hospital for chronic child diseases amounting to HRK 100 000, the proceeds of the sale of VIP entrance tickets. The proceeds will be handed over to the representative of the hospital by the newly-declared winner of the race.

Extraordinary victory for Janica Kosteliæ in giantslalom, in which she, except the Olympics gold medal from Salt Lake City, never got to climb up the highest step of winners podium.

Today's race was extremely dramatic.Janica woke up with stomack ache and feeling weak, so after the first run she went to hospital where she recieved a bottle of infusion.
» First podium finish for Janica Kosteliæ in Lienz
Janica Kosteliæ reached her very first podium in Austria's Lienz in one of the most demanding slalom races on the women's circuit. The skier from Zagreb came in 3rd in the last race of the year won by Austria's Marlies Schild ahead of Nicole Hosp. Nika Fleiss and Ana Jelusic also skied among the best 20. Anja Paerson, unbeaten in slalom this season, fell in the middle of her first run.
