Zagreb/Sljeme (CRO), 19.04.2007. Janica Kostelic definitely ending her professional alpine skiing career! On the press conference, held today simbolicaly on the Sljeme hill above Zagreb, where her skiing found its start, Janica Kostelic has informed the media about her decision to end her professional alpine skiing career.
The career of Janica Kostelic in the most important facts:
- three times winner of the big Crystal globe as overall winner of the ladies' FIS Ski World Cup (2000/01, 2002/03 and 2005/06)
- three times winner of the small Crystal globe as slalom winner of the ladies' FIS Ski World Cup
- four gold and two silver olympic medals (OWG Salt Lake City 2002 and Torino 2006)
- five gold medals on the FIS World Ski Championships (St. Moritz 2003 and Bormio/Sta Caterina 2005)
- 30 wins on the ladies' FIS Ski World Cup races, in all five alpine discilines
