Apartment House "Snow Queen" opens its doors
Sljeme-Medvednica, a firm that in Zagreb/Sljeme, in Nature park Medvednica, runs all sports and accommodation facilities, has proudly announced an opening of its new accommodation object.
The object, a suite or apartment house named “Snow Queen”, has opened its doors on Saturday, September 30th, 2006, and was opened by the mayor of the City of Zagreb, Mr. Milan Bandiæ.
In his warm opening speech, Mr. Bandiæ stressed the fact that Janica Kosteliæ, the Croatian “Snow Queen”, has had, with her almost unbelievable sports results, a great impact on the development of Sljeme and on promoting of the City of Zagreb through the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup “Snow Queen Trophy” race in a best way, and worldwide.
On behalf of Croatian Ski Association, the welcoming speech was held by Mr. Ozren Mueller, the spokesman for the Association, who had to excuse Kosteliæ family members, that were unable to come to the opening of the “Snow Queen” house, with Ivica, his father and coach Ante, and mother Marica being at the time on snow in Hintertux (AUT), and with Janica Kosteliæ having some private obligations that stopped her from coming to Sljeme on Saturday.
Mr. Mueller also welcomed everybody on behalf of Mr. Vedran Pavlek, the chief director of Croatian national alpine ski team, who is at the time on FIS meetings in Zuerich (SUI), where he expects a definite confirmation of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup calendar for season 2007/08, when Zagreb/Sljeme should host two FIS World Cup slalom races – a “Snow Queen Trophy”, night slalom race in Ladies’ competition on February 15th, 2008, and the “Snow King Trophy”, a day-time slalom race in Men’s competition, that should take place on February 17th, 2008, only two days after a Ladies’ competition race.

Apartment house Snje¾na kraljica (Snow Queen Apartment House), on the top of Nature park Medvednica, Sljeme, is located in close vicinity of ski resort Sljeme.
In some of seventeen modernly equipped apartments, open fireplace creates cozy and romantic atmosphere on long winter nights. Sixteen of apartments are four-bed-apartments and one is eight-bed-apartment.
Restaurant of the house is adapted to mountain atmosphere and offers traditional, forgotten, Croatian cuisine.
There is also a bar, a sauna, a solarium and a whirlpool.
