Croatian Olympic Comittee
Aare (SWE), 15.03.2006.
What the girls say?
Three of our representatives will compete in FIS World Cup finals, therefore we bring you some of their thoughts about overall season, competing in Aare, problems and injuries...

Janica about not competing in downhill:
We've decided that I won't compete, so it would be nonsense to change that decision. I saw the race coures and it's more Super-G than downhill, the course is short and therefore suitable for Anja Paerson.

About skiis and eventualy losing the top position:
She can win all four races if you ask me. But, I must do my share of job. There's no point in worrying about that. She can fall behind on furth gate, me on fifth, and on sixth we can both come down to finish. What we have to deal with is the skiis. There are some little problems with it. I race and suddenly they are not good. Same thing happened to Ivica in Olympics slalom in Sestriere, and it's the same model of skiis. On this kind of snow they just dont work.

Nika Fleiss about her knee and Aare:
I train as much as I can, fearing to engrave my injury by striking the pole or falling. My knee "wiggles", the cross ligament is stretched. It's not so steep and difficult here, that's why I came to Aare to compete and try to save first starting group position in next season's slalom races. Otherwise I would already be on surgery at Dr. Hapl.

Ana Jelui after finishing 9th in Levi:
Maybe that 9th place came because I finally got to myself after all; alergies, sickness, injuries... This is a big encouragement for the next season when you can see that all the effort makes sense.

In the end, let's wish a succesful performance to our girls in Aare.
